Why We Exist

Two problems created this company. The first is that a lot of people who genuinely need an emotional support animal cannot get a letter from their own provider — either they do not have one, or their therapist has a blanket policy against writing them. The second is that the vacuum filled up with websites selling registration certificates, ID cards and instant approvals, none of which survive contact with a property manager who reads carefully.

We sit in between: a real clinical evaluation, a clinician licensed where you live, and a letter that a leasing office can verify in ninety seconds.

What We Believe

A service where nobody is denied is a service whose letters mean nothing

Our clinicians decline requests. That is uncomfortable to say on a marketing page, and it is the reason our letters are worth something. If the evaluation always ends in yes, the license on the signature is not attesting to anything.

State law is not a footnote

Arkansas, California, Iowa, Louisiana and Montana require a 30-day client-provider relationship before an ESA letter can issue. We say so on every page that touches those states, including the ones where saying so costs us a sale. A same-day letter in California is not a fast letter — it is a non-compliant one.

Accurate claims, even the unhelpful ones

An ESA letter does not get you on a plane. It has not since January 2021. A psychiatric service dog letter does not grant ADA public access — access comes from the dog's training, and businesses are not permitted to require paperwork. There is no registry. We put all of this in writing on our pricing page, where it would be easier to leave it out.

How We Handled the 2026 Change

On May 22, 2026, HUD rescinded its 2020 assistance animal guidance and adopted a training-based enforcement standard. It was the biggest shift in this area in over a decade, and a great deal of published advice went stale overnight.

What We Are Not

• Not a law firm. We publish general information about housing and disability law. For advice about your situation, talk to a lawyer or your state fair housing agency.
• Not a clinic. The clinicians who evaluate you are independently licensed professionals exercising their own clinical judgment. We do not direct their decisions.
• Not a registry. We do not sell certificates, ID cards, vests or patches at any price.
• Not a training service. We document clinical need. Task training for a psychiatric service dog is separate, and you are allowed to do it yourself.

How We Make Money

One-time fees for evaluations and letters, listed on the pricing page. No subscriptions, no auto-renewal, no upsells for merchandise that has no legal effect. Clinicians are paid for their time, not for approvals — nobody's compensation goes up when they say yes.
